Ofka, we called her Tof at home, was not only pretty, but also with wonderful character ... When she was a kitten I could see that she had THIS something already, I remember now that I did everything to discourage potential buyers ... she had to stay of course ... She won at many shows, I will never forget a time when she was close to be World Winner at the World Show in Vienna ... the judges voted for two cats only! Voices went for her and for the MCO, who won with ONE voice ... it was so exciting! Her children were beautiful, she was such a sweet cat ... I was wondering with Rafal, when this strong bond between him and Tof had established. She was his SOULMATE, always beside, with her paw touching, hugging, purring at full volume ... When Rafal was not home, she waited for him, sitting on the window, meowing impatiently, when she saw that he arrived, waiting impatiently to give a hug, happy he finally had come! They were always close, he was sitting with her, for her, next to her ...
Once she was strongly poisoned, I thought she would not survive, I called Rafal telling him that is was probably the end, she lay limply and I syringed her with fluids, Rafal was not there. When he arrived, she raised her head and crawled to him, I could not believe it… her love, the love that won then, but not now
Ofka started to lose some weight since December, she often vomited, the research did not result in anything. She was suspected of FIP in April, because the belly was full of a fluid, research in Laboklin confirmed the presence of coronavirus. She was tested on all sides in foreign laboratories, consulted by many veterinarians . She was suspected pancreatic insufficiency, hepatic Insufficiency but reaction to medications didn’t prove it. Cat felt worse and worse. During the ultrasound doctor Marcinski, very good ultrasound specialist found SOMETHING in her stomach, something perceptible even to the touch, lymph nodes were greatly enlarged and high temperature was maintained almost all the time ... because the numerous tests did not show anythingg concrete, Rafal insisted on operation to look if something was in the belly ... he was right, because it was the cause of illness :’( She had Lymphoma and the fluid had nothing to do with FIP ... We breathed a bit, FIP diagnosis means a judgment, and finally we could enjoy more time with her (so we thought then ...) common time ...The fight started... Rafal was unbelievable in his determination, drove her from Poznan to Warsaw for chemotherapy, gave drugs, doing more research ... if research was not the worst, weight good, temperaturę better...another chemistry ... She was given five doses ... After each chemistry first days could be worse, we had a duty upon her. Tumor seemed smaller , lymph nodes looked better ... unfortunately two days after the last chemistry something broke :’( about four o’clock in the morning she had the first seizure ... then another ... we spent hours on duty at the clinic, where doctors tried to remove her from collapse ... face of the doctor was priceless when he saw a patient who was lying limply in drips for several hours, then necessarily have to go to the sink to drink water, and a moment later was eating tray of food, licking the bowl untill cleaned ... Thursday 3 July was like back from the dead. Rafal’s faith in the recovery of his beloved cat was astounding. I wanted to believe as him and i admired his determination, his getting up every two hours at night, administering drugs intravenously, measuring glucose, feeding Convalescence with nutrients and glucose by syringe, changing diapers, giving inhalations of oxygen ... sleepless nights, faith and love :’( Unfortunately, the organs in the body ceased to function. Rafal.. did not give up, even though it was very bad. Because of family reasons we had to leave her for a few hours at the clinic of main of her her vets in Warsaw. Rafall decided to do more research, if the result indicated that there is no hope left and he should let her go, he was ready to make a decision :’( Study, however, did not give a clear answer, and the last option was the transfusion of blood that Ofka had on Monday, 14 July ...
And as usual... Rafal was serving her, watering, feeding, injections, drips, alarm clock ringing several times at night ... about five o'clock in the morning Raphael woke me up, saying it was time to say goodbye
Tof left for the Rainbow Bridge near six in the morning on July 15, two months before her thirteen birthday
She left big emptiness, even though we have a lot of cats, Ofka had a special place in our hearts, and Rafal loved his soulmate immensely ... no other cat does not soothe his pain, no cat will be so close to him only memories will remain many wonderful years together ... .they will meet some day again…
